Beware

I had Chicagoland Wrecking and Waterproofing put drain tile in my basement. This is when they were under another business name called, "Superb Waterproofing, Inc." My basement still continued to have water. Since they did not want to correct a small problem with the sump pump, I knew they would not correct a larger problem. I hired a professional company, called Real Seal. They told me the drain tile was not dug down deep enough and the drain tile was just set on top of the gravel, and it was not at a slope so the water would drain. The water just sat there. Beware of companies who use a post office box as their address. I was a new homeowner at the time and made the mistake of trusting this company.

We hired Mike Doman company, Chicagoland Wrecking & Waterproofing to provide demolition services for us on a property in Monee, IL. Upon entering into an agreement 4/11/2109 and providing them a deposit of $4,500.00 we were told that they would have this job completed with in a day or two. Three weeks later after multiple excuses as to why they could not perform services, they finally got started. Our agreement said they would do this within 5 days. Upon starting, I was notified by the Village of Monee, (Building Department) that Chicagoland Wrecking did not comply with their requirements for a start of demolition. i.e. verify shut off of utilities and cap sewer and water lines. Once they finally got started, they performed a partial demo. I was then notified by Mike Doman, (the owner of Chicagoland Wrecking) that he did not have enough money to pay for the dumpsters to have the debris removed. So here we were with a half finished job, open hole in the foundation, (safety hazard) and the job with debris scattered all over the job site. Working with the village, I hired a new demolition contractor to complete the job. I would not advise anyone to work with this dishonest, poor performing company.

I complained about this contractor to the Illinois Attorney General and you can do the same. Here is the link https://ccformsubmission.ilattorneygeneral.net/ You also need to mention that he didn't provide you with the "Home Repair: Know Your Consumer Rights" pamphlet, mandatory for works over $1,000 (that I bet he didn't do).

You need to contact the Will County States Attorney, Larry Lashinski. Michael Doman has done this for decades, changes company name, phone number. He has many many victims in Cook and Will County.
